My story is not exactly a familiar story, but it has some aspects you might recognize. I've been into technology for as long as I can remember. My parents would tell you that I was the kind of kid who was always pushing buttons just to find out what they do, turning light switches on and off just to marvel at the excitement of a light turning on and off. It must have been annoying to them, but it was the start of who I have become. I evolved to become my family's computer and technology expert, running everything from our home network to our VCR and everything in between. I was the first of my friends to have my own computer, the first with an iPhone, and I reached peak-nerd status while waiting in line overnight for the original iPad in 2010. My love for technology was (and is) never-ending.

This passion led me to an interest in the Entertainment Industry, so I went to college to study Audio Post-Production and Sound Design, leading to my first career as a sound editor for television shows in Los Angeles. This career was endlessly fascinating, but it left me wanting more. After a bit of soul searching, I realized that the answer has been in front of me all along: software development! And why not learn to develop for my favorite platform, iOS?!

 

I started self-teaching myself how to code for iOS using Swift in 2018, and I immediately realized, "Hey! I'm pretty good at this...maybe I should make a career out of it!" And that's exactly what I plan to do. I've learned a lot and I can't wait to get even deeper in the technology industry building great apps!
